About This Book
Overview

If you like The Pet Whisperer, you will love Wendy Kelly, the pet listener. Kelly discovered valuable lessons about animal behavior and human behavior after a serendipitous day at an animal rescue.

When I decided to rescue Buji, little did I know he would teach me some of life’s most valuable lessons. The bull terrier had something very important to tell me—and to get my attention, all he had to do was save my life.

Head held high, I walked out of the shelter with the dog others had deemed hopeless. Minutes later, I was banished from my own car by bared teeth and bristled fur, caught in the rain and dripping wet, foiled by the very creature whose cause I had just championed.

Never in my life had I asked so many times, “What was I thinking?”

When I rescued Buji, little did I know he would teach me some of life’s most valuable lessons—and all he had to do to get my attention was save my life.

"Buji and Me is a genuine and moving story of how dogs are looking out for us. Your readers will find inspiration, guidance, and caring." ~ Michael McCulloch, Lac, MPH, PhD, Pine Street Foundation

“Buji and Me is not just an insightful guide for those of us who consider our animal companions a part of the family; it is a book for those who have battled cancer, know someone who has battled cancer, or fight this terrible plague still. It’s for those who already know what joy and promise these animals bring to our lives as well as for those who have not experienced it yet, and it’s for those of us looking for answers when life’s unfair moments strike us. Buji and Me accomplishes this intelligently and believably and is an incredibly beautiful read. I know you will enjoy it as much as I.” ~ Stephen Bennett, Celebrity Interviewer and Photographer, Animal Welfare Activist

“Wendy Kelly describes in her book a philosophy that is beneficial for all beings to follow in life. Her stories on how animals can save human lives in the forms of dogs who ‘sniff’ out cancer or pets who guide and provide support to their human companions demonstrate the untapped potential in the human/pet connection. I highly recommend this book.” ~ Deborah Bloome, PsyD
