plenty to celebrate!
Referee of over 500 UFC bouts, “Big” John McCarthy has signed on to release a nonfiction description of the
inside-the-cage history of mixed martial arts, Let’s
Get It On. Along with one of the sport’s
most recognizable female journalists, Loretta Hunt, McCarthy
will reflect
on the sport’s progression from unruly beginnings
to mainstream attraction.
Let’s
Get It On tells the story of a man who devoted
his life to a critically condemned sport and helped it to
soar. This 350-page book will give the iconic referee’s
firsthand account of the MMA’s roller-coaster journey
and will include a 20-page insert with pictures and captions
from McCarthy’s private library and from noted MMA
photographers. The color and black-and-white photos will
chronicle moments of McCarthy’s life, as well as candid
shots, UFC fight badges, posters, programs, and other memorabilia
from McCarthy’s over 300-piece private collection.
