Hi,
everyone! Emily Steele here with some exciting news about
the growth and development of
Medallion Press’s editorial department. Helen Rosburg,
our fearless and wonderful leader, continues to oversee our
department as executive editor. Christy Phillippe, our excellent
senior editor, is now stepping into the role of editorial
director, and I will now fulfill the tasks of editorial manager.
In March, we were thrilled to welcome Carolyn Steele as our
sci-fi/fantasy editor. And this month, Jessica Vicich, formerly
Medallion’s administrative assistant, becomes a part
of our very own department as editorial coordinator.
We’re so thankful for Carolyn’s and Jessica’s
expertise, and it is with great pleasure that I formally introduce
them to you! I’ve asked each of them to share some words
with you.
Carolyn?
From
cereal boxes to encyclopedias, I never stopped reading as
a child; that obsession has only grown with time. As
an adult, I strongly subscribe to the theory that all
purses
should be
large enough to accommodate a paperback book, and I continue
to devour books, magazines, and Web articles on a wide
variety of subjects. Most recently, I worked as an editor
at the
University of Chicago Press. As part of the Medallion
team, I’ll
be focusing primarily on fantasy and science fiction—though
some of you in romance may see me as well! I’m so
thrilled to be part of such a stellar editorial team!
I adore the sense
of family here at Medallion Press, and look forward to
getting to know the authors who comprise the foundation
of our enterprise.

Jessica?
I
love books. I know that may seem like a given, considering
my chosen career, but I adore books—collect them, in fact.
Every book I own finds its way to my “keeper” shelves.
I love to go back and read books over and over again. No matter
how many times I reread a novel, I always find a little something
new, a detail that was just waiting to be discovered. I am thrilled
to be joining the editorial family, and reading through submissions
to find more “keeper” stories. I love
being the go-to person for our authors and their
voice to the editorial
team. I fell in love with Medallion the very first
day I walked through the door just over a year and
half ago. The feeling
of pride I have for this company, one that is shared
by each and every staff member, is truly amazing.
I feel extremely blessed
be part of such a brilliant group of people!

trusting our capable team with your works.
We’re so happy
to be a part of bringing your books to life! Emily Steele
