Michael Beres The Cold War, Eastern European roots, and environmental concerns shape Michael’s novels. With degrees in computer science, math, and literature, he initially worked for the Atomic Energy Commission analyzing classified atmospheric data and later wrote software documentation. He is a Chicago native living in west Michigan.
Michael’s novels include Sunstrike, Grand Traverse, Final Stroke, and The President’s Nemesis. His 2008 novel, Chernobyl Murders, begins the Lazlo Horvath Thriller series. “Chernobyl Murders is a page-turner of the highest order” ~ The Chicago Tribune

Michael is a member of Mystery Writers of America, International Thriller Writers, International Association of Crime Writers, Union of Concerned Scientists, and many other organizations. He has published over fifty short stories, some of them in Amazing Stories, Amazon Shorts, the American Fiction collection, Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine, The Chicago Daily News, Cosmopolitan, Ellery Queen, Michigan Quarterly Review, The Missouri Review, New York Stories, Playboy, and Twilight Zone. Many stories and two novels have been translated and reprinted in foreign editions.Blog
