Michael Beres

Michael Beres The Cold War, Eastern European roots, and environmental concerns shape Michael’s novels. With degrees in computer science, math, and literature, he initially worked for the Atomic Energy Commission analyzing classified atmospheric data and later wrote software documentation. He is a Chicago native living in west Michigan.

Michael’s novels include SunstrikeGrand TraverseFinal Stroke, and The President’s Nemesis. His 2008 novel, Chernobyl Murders, begins the Lazlo Horvath Thriller series. “Chernobyl Murders is a page-turner of the highest order” ~ The Chicago Tribune

Michael is a member of Mystery Writers of America, International Thriller Writers, International Association of Crime Writers, Union of Concerned Scientists, and many other organizations. He has published over fifty short stories, some of them in Amazing StoriesAmazon Shorts, the American Fiction collection, Alfred Hitchcock Mystery MagazineThe Chicago Daily NewsCosmopolitanEllery QueenMichigan Quarterly ReviewThe Missouri ReviewNew York StoriesPlayboy, and Twilight Zone. Many stories and two novels have been translated and reprinted in foreign editions.
